The aim of Milwaukee Area Youth Golf Academy is to equip and challenge young people to excel in life through the game of golf. Our philosophy and values are to promote and enhance honesty, self-acceptance, self-awareness, compassion, commitment, integrity and grit.
In a single round of golf, players must use their integrity, respect, and skill to overcome adversity and experience success. The same is true in life. By combining the teachings of positive character traits with golf fundamentals, a junior golf program helps youth navigate around the golf course and through life. The golf school strives to build healthy life skills through positive youth development, while fostering relationships with peers and adults.
WHAT IS MILWAUKEE AREA YOUTH GOLF ACADEMY?
Milwaukee Area Youth Golf Academy is a golf academy that offers youth a chance to play golf. The Golf Academy was created to provide a junior golf program for underserved youth in the Milwaukee area. We provide a welcoming learning environment open to youth ages 8-17 who want to have fun while learning and playing the game of golf. The exemplary instructional program will focus on providing learning criteria, skill development, and golf course access for individuals of all abilities. We are partnering with PGA and LPGA instructors around the metro area to teach young people golf. We are also partnering with youth organizations, community centers and schools to introduce the game. Our goal is to give our young people the ability to take their game beyond a driving range and on to a golf course.
Our relationships with golf clubs throughout the region is instrumental to provide fundraising opportunities. All of the proceeds and funding go directly to provide scholarships at the youth golf camps.
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, our success lies in making a difference in the lives of youth. As a volunteer, you can make a difference from golf instruction and fundraising to mentoring and much more. We welcome both financial and equipment contributions.
